Removing makeup is one of the toughest thing to do especially when you just came home from a stressful day at work or an exhausting event; no matter how tired and sleepy you are at night, never ever skip or forget to remove your makeup. Our skin needs time to breathe and being covered up with junk all day is crazy for your face. PLUS dirt, oil, smoke and pollution was with you throughout your day. There are convenient ways to remove makeup, I use makeup remover wipes and wet ones after whenever I feel tired whether its day or night and I still have my makeup on.
According to dermatologists, stick with lukewarm water every time you cleanse. Using cold water for cleansing will close up our pores which makes it difficult for us to remove the dirt. While washing with hot water will make our skin dry.
Try to get your entire face wet to make sure that you get all the spot on your face cleansed. Also, never apply too much facial wash or cleanser on your face, avoid using excess product; a pea size amount would do. Wiping your face off with a tissue or cotton pads will make it easier for us to remove the residue of oil and dirt and then take a few splash of cold water to close down those slightly opened pores and to keep the nutrients and moisture you can get from your facial wash.
Don't forget to moisturize. Don't put too much moisturizer on your face, the "Less is more" rule applies to this step as well. If you have normal to dry skin, try a richer hydrating cream or aqua gel moisturizers. If you have oily and combination skin stay away from heavy moisturizers and focus on the areas of your face that appears dry. Slowly and softly pat your fingers to your face when applying, and massage the product gently to your skin.
And lastly, drink plenty of water. This is the perfect way to hydrate your skin from the inside.
