Product Review: NYX High Definition Studio Photogenic Primer
We all know that investing on a good face primer is very important when it comes to skin care and makeup. I love to buy stuff online not only because the products that are sold on the internet are way cheaper than in physical stores or at the mall, but because we can haggle with some online sellers until the price drops a little more. :)

Product claims:
High definition, photogenic primer. Perfect for liquid makeup, foundation or face powder. Silky, lightweight application helps erase the appearance of fine lines and pores for a flawless finish. Your makeup will stay fresh until the party's over!
This makeup base comes in one shade only - HDPO1. Its a bluish white color that looks similar to an eyelash adhesive. It smells like a glue or a crayon but once you apply it on your skin it smells like a buttery lotion, the label clearly states that it is paraben-free and cruelty-free. Application is flawless, adheres to the skin well and will not make your skin look pale (even if its white) most of the primers are colorless/clear or will come in peach or nude shades. I tried wearing the primer on my face alone for a few hours and It feels very light on the skin especially when its worn without makeup. (no powder or anything just primer and lip balm) I also tried wearing the primer with foundation on and the face makeup lasted for about 7 hours. It would also depend on your skin type and the type of foundation used. I have combination skin and I tried using both cream and liquid foundation and the primer held on to my makeup really well.
The consistency is more of a liquid than cream type, its very thin and easy to apply and blends perfectly on the skin.

- Clean and moisturize face
- Pump a pea size amount of the product
- Apply small dots from the forehead to your cheeks, chin, nose bridge, jaw line
- Spread the product all over your face using your foundation brush
- It has a pungent smell
- The product claims that its for all skin types but I won't recommend it to those who have oily skin to apply it without foundation and setting powder because your face will look greasy
What I like about the NYX HD Photogenic Primer:
- Very affordable for an HD Primer (Php 650 total bought from an online shop)
- You can control the amount of product to be used because the packaging comes in a sleek and handy pump bottle
- It helps diminish the appearance of fine lines and pores
- You can wear this primer on its own and will still look good even in photos
- Adheres well with any type of foundation (e.g liquid, cream, powder) and has brightening effect
- This primer contains Salicornia Herbacea extracts which has antioxidant properties and whitening effects on skin and acts as a perfect rejuvenating agent.
Will I purchase the product again?
Definitely will. :)

Product Review: Neutrogena pure mild facial cleanser
I haven't tried Neutrogena facial cleansers before so i'm not quite sure if all their facial cleanser smells the same. I've been using Lactacyd baby bath for my face and body for the longest time and it leaves my skin very smooth, healthy looking and fresh all day. I haven't experienced any break outs or skin irritation with the Lactacyd blue.
I was in a hurry when I bought this product because we had to wait for the longest line at the mall's cashiers. So I didn't get the chance to check out contents. When I decided to check out the facial cleanser counter, it was my husband's turn to pay already, he then called me to check out the products and to know if that's all that we'll be needing, so i grabbed this cleanser and went to the cashier. I like smelling things before I buy them and this product caught my nostrils' attention so I bought it :) it doesn't smell so good though but do you remember the smell of those free travel sized shampoos from 5 star hotels or beach resorts that comes with their complimentary products? that's how this product smells. So i was intrigued. :)
Product Claims:
Liquid Neutrogena is a pure, clean-rinsing facial cleanser for clean and soft skin. Hypo-allergenic formula is dermatologist proven to be mild and leaves no pure-clogging residue.
I am using this product for a few days now and I can tell that it gives me a clean feel and soft skin after every wash. Its texture is foamy once you apply it on your face and its very easy to rinse off. It didn't clog my pores at all and it removes excess oil on my face after rinsing. On the contrary it gave me itchy rashes on my cheeks and forehead which I don't get with the facial products I use. The packaging comes in a yellow-orangey tube that's convenient to carry anywhere in your skincare bag.
What I don't like about the Liquid Neutrogena:
- It claims to be fragrance-free but the scent is strong once the product is applied on the face (but goes away while scrubbing and when it becomes foamy)
- Allergies and itchy rashes appeared on my cheeks and forehead after just one day of using it
- The cleanser irritated my eyes when it got into it while rinsing it off
- The product now contains propylparaben and methylparaben which are synthetic chemicals that are members of the paraben family. (and that some european countries are planning to implement strict rules with, which caused harm to skin and health)
What I like about the Liquid Neutrogena:
- Packaging is handy and convenient to carry in my bag with my skincare stuff
- It's very affordable for a branded cleanser (Php 132.75 100 ml)
- It rinses off easily
- It gives soft and smooth feel after every wash
- Removes traces of dirt and oil completely
- Does not clog pores
- The product contains Glycerin which creates a more healthier and natural-looking skin which also helps prevent dry skin
Will I purchase the product again?
I am very critical in buying cosmetics or skin care products especially on trying it out on my face. I was very impressed with Neutrogena body lotions and moisturizers because they really does wonders on the skin. But I also would want to be aware of the contents of the products that i'll use on my face next time. I came up with the conclusion that the proplyparaben content of this product might have triggered the allergic reaction and rashes that appeared on my face since I have a very sensitive skin. I might not re-purchase the product again but will finish off the one I got :) I'll try to use this atleast once a week and see how it goes.

Awesome Thought #1
I admit it! there are times that i feel a bit insecure about how i look especially when i feel that i gained weight or whenever i don't feel good about my skin or with what i wear. But try to think about this simple thought, we really don't need makeup or nice clothes to be beautiful, real beauty comes within us. So don't forget to show your most awesome smile. Don't just do it in photos, let's do it anytime, anywhere, in any situation we may be :)

About Me
In high school I was more like the "no makeup at all gal". You won't see me carry a pressed powder or even a lip balm at school. Probably because I never saw my mom buy or collect cosmetics. On her dresser you'll see a huge square mirror, her drawers contained her unused gadgets, baby powder, perfumes, body lotion, facial moisturizer, isopropyl alcohol and a medicine glass container. There were times while she prepares for work that's when we'll see her bring out her foundation, do a couple of face powder buff, a dab of gloss and a single swipe of her favorite lipstick would do for her. My mom had a brow tattoo back then so i don't think shaping and filling her brows is necessary. I was brought up in a very simple household hence I've grown to be a simple young lady. I have 3 brothers and a sister who is more boy-ish in outfit and gestures. In high school I remember girls in my class who used to do retouches or touch ups every lunch break, and this girl who i hang out with is way too simple than i was. She has this really bushy brows and an oily skin. I remember that because we used to blot her facial oil on her yellow pad paper. (Yes, you're right we're gross). Its not that I don't wanna be friends with the powder girls, (that's how my English Teacher call these girls in my class) or because they were bullies for some reason; well they're not. I'm not just used to talking about makeup and skin care stuff or putting something on my face cause it feels icky or i sweat too much or because it feels really heavy like I have clay on my face, I don't really know. Its just not my thing.
I've seen and met more powder girls when I reach college since I studied in an exclusive school for girls. I was still the simple "no makeup at all gal". My best friend in high school went to a different university so we lost contact. But I met new friends who were okay, they wear makeup like ALL day everyday in school. They were the ones who introduced hair rebonding to me and a lot more kikay things like french tips, liquid foundation, concealer, lip plumper, stilettos etc. But I still couldn't get the hang of it. I still go to school events wearing nothing but a smile on my face.
Tyra banks is one of my favorite Hollywood celebrities. She's just oh so pretty in my eyes, I admire the way she talk, the way she walk, her gestures, attitude and self confidence. And when I've seen one episode on Tyra's show on TV, it accidentally changed my perspective in makeup and beauty. From the very simple "no makeup at all gal" to the makeup lover slash beauty geek me. I still don't like to wear makeup all the time but I learned to appreciate what it does and how it transforms us into somewhat more confident and fearless young ladies. I learned that obsession with beauty and loving makeup is not just pampa-arte or because we're maarte, it's being aware with what we can do to enhance and embrace the beauty that God gave us and what we truly possess.
